Toddlers

The toddler room provides care for children aged 2 to 3. Children learn how to share, co-operate with one another and take turns as well as many other social skills. More structure within the room encourages the children to sit and join in with activities to help with their vocabulary and concentration.

We use various media to aid with numbers from 1-10, basic colours and shapes to help prepare the children for their move into the Serendipitys Pre School. We continue to follow the early years foundation stage framework for children from birth through to 5 years old.

A child's independence is also encouraged with them feeding themselves and potty training.

Outdoor play is a major part of the day with opportunities in both the morning and afternoon to use the extensive range of equipment. Painting, sand and water play, play dough, collage, construction and a home corner are examples of various daily activities.

Parents receive daily feedback detailing all information from their child’s day at nursery including meal times, sleep times, activities and general observations. Child development files are available for parents to access at any time and we hold regular parents evenings to share information and inform parents of coming threads.

Children sit together to eat at the table at meal times and are encouraged to feed themselves. Good manners are promoted at all times. We cater for any special dietary requirements or food allergies.

We are always on hand to offer support to parents on challenging developmental phases and issues.
